As we’re just about at the end of term  we have only one student training event this week at the Boots Library.  We are running two sessions for staff – a new one about Open Educational Resources, and Rachel is running a session on image research.

Students

  • Dissertation Research.  Wednesday 15th June, 2-3.  Is your dissertation deadline looming? Worried that you’ve not managed to find enough information for it? This session will give you some hints tips, and shortcuts.

Staff

  • Open Educational Resources.   Tuesday 14th June, 2-3.  This session will introduce the concept of Open Educational Resources and explain the copyright and licensing issues regarding resources of this type. It will also cover sources of open educational resources, both within NTU and worldwide.
  • Visual Research – Finding Images.  Thursday 16th June.  3-4.30.  How do you find images to illustrate your work?  What’s better to use, Google Images, image databases, or free websites?  This session will provide you with an overview image locations and searching techniques.
