Training Events for Staff and Students w/c 28th March

Here’s a round-up of  this week’s training events in the Boots Library.  Please sign up if you’re interested in attending.  These sessions are free, and the student events are now accredited by the Student Union’s STRIDE programme.

  • Using RefWorks, Citing References.  Wednesday 30th March, 1-2.  An introduction to RefWorks. Includes: RefWorks registration; creating your database; and using Write-N-Cite in Word.
  • Market Research Databases. Wednesday 30th March, 2-3. This session will focus on detailed market information about industry sectors, products and services. There are several databases that cover both the UK and international markets. The information in these reports almost writes your assignments!
  • Trend Prediction Services. Thursday 31st March, 2-3. Do you need yo know about new and upcoming trends in terms of fashion, graphics, decorative arts and interiors? Find out about the various trend prediction services NTU has available.


  • Communities of Practice. Wednesday 31st March, 2-3. Clifton Campus Library. An interactive discussion session on ways to raise your research profile, encompassing Communities of Practice, social networking and other good scholarly practice.
